About us

The Questions is a hip-hop trivia game show celebrating one of the most influential arms of music and pop culture. Whether you’re a casual fan or a die-hard rap nerd, this is music that has scored the soundtrack to our lives and the way that we view the world.

Show guests - rappers, producers, DJs, hip hop media personalities, actors, comedians, and super-fans – must prove their know-how through rounds of questions about artists, albums, and lyrics, while also sharing their own stories about how hip hop has played a role in their lives.

After two years of live events across the country – including shows with Dre Day Los Angeles, Beat Junkies Institute of Sound, and B-Real TV – The Questions pivoted to an online format in March 2020 after the global pandemic.

The show’s special guests have been a “who’s who” of tastemakers and bonafide hip hop heads, including Questlove, Russell Peters, Peter Rosenberg, Just Blaze, Warren G, Masta Ace, Tony Baker, Murs, Open Mike Eagle, Mister Cee, Dante Ross, Phonte Coleman (Little Brother), Christopher “Kid” Reid, Cosmo Baker, Trackstar the DJ (Run the Jewels), Slimkid3 (the Pharcyde), and more!

In 2022, The Questions spun off into a podcast, continuing the format of testing hip-hop heads on their rap knowledge as well as adding new segments such as the Making Illmatic series, bracket tournament discussions, and much more. In 2023, The Questions makes it return to the live event space – just in time for hip-hop’s 50th birthday and the release of a physical game of The Questions, published with Clarkson Potter & Penguin/Random House.
